2) British Government Plans Privatization of Police
The UK government has called for plans from private security firms for the assumption of tasks entrusted to the Police up to now. There are plans mainly in the regions of West Midlands and Surrey to entrust private companies with a great deal of policing. The tasks to be outsourced within short not only comprise supporting activities such as maintaining the vehicle fleet or optimizing administration, but also the entire assumption and independent street patrol organization, taking care of victims or crime scene investigation. During the three years to come, 2,700 (national) police jobs will be cut within the frame of privatization.
